The fine-pole permanent magnetic chuck now has increasingly become one of the necessary units when it comes to EDM work, drilling or grinding small parts. As a modern work-holding system, the permanent magnetic chuck comes with many benefits, such as consistent clamping force, less machined parts distortion, simple setup, and more. The term fine-pole refers to the pole pattern that distributes on the chuck’s work surface.
Fine-pole indicates that the space (distance) between each pole is very little. Usually, the greater the distance, the stronger the magnetic force. Fine-pole permanent magnetic chucks generate a low magnetic penetration to the workpiece. With this feature, the chuck works well clamping thin pieces and for light machining operations. Yet, when working with the drilling machine, the feeding depth is a concern since there is a risk the drilling bit penetrates the chuck surface.
